Home Learning Bags Bring Learning to Life

Our new home learning bags are giving children the opportunity to become little gardeners while extending their learning beyond nursery. The bag contains everything they need to plant and grow their own cress at home. Through this simple, hands-on activity, children can discover how food grows and develop an understanding of how we can all help to look after our environment.
The activity also provides a wonderful opportunity to explore healthy eating and where our food comes from. Children can learn that some of the food we eat is grown from seeds. The home learning bags will also support children in developing important skills such as following instructions, taking responsibility and developing independence. Children will need to remember to care for their cress, check its progress and make sure it has what it needs to grow.
